SAP Note 24921 - Creating new field groups

Reason and Prerequisites

In the standard system, various fields are grouped together in a field group, which can only be maintained together. This assignment may not correspond to the needs of the enterprise.

Solution

You need to carry out the following tasks to create new field groups:

1. Implement Note 24920 in Release 2.2.

2. Transaction OAVM (create a new field group)
Start only after Field Group 90, in case SAP adds additional field groups in the standard system.

3. Use Transaction SM31 to maintain Table T082 with for the new field
group. Call Transaction SM31: Table T082 "Maintain" pushbutton.
Enter MAST in OK code field to maintain the table directly.
Usually, the table is maintained by means of a Customizing view. However, this is not possible in this case.

4. You then have to modify all the screen layout controls that are used.

5. Use SE11 (ABAP Dictionary) for Table T082F to set the Indicator "Table maintenance allowed" and then activate the table.

6. Use SM31 for Table T082F to assign fields to the new field groups. The
"Table" and "Field name" fields specify the field to be assigned. Under 'Group', set A for master data fields and B for area fields. The number represents the assignment of the field to the new field group.

As of Release 4.0, you have to use Transaction SE16 to carry out the
maintenance.

Caution: Do not use this note for the customer-specific fields of Table ANLU.
