SAP Note 24917 - MD01: Prod. versions from planned ind.reqs. (docu)

Symptom:

The lot size determination groups planned quantities (planned independent requirements) together with different production versions. The planned order for the entire quantity receives the production version of the first planning.

The lot size-calculation groups planned quantities with different serial numbers. The planned order for the entire quantity receives the serial number of the first planning.

Cause and prerequisites

Preconditions:
Different production versions or serial numbers are specified in the planning (planned independent requirements) for a material.
The quantities are temporally set so that they are grouped together by the lot size determination. When the lot size is exact, the requirements are grouped to the same date. When weekly lot size is used all requirements within one week are grouped.
Cause:
For production versions or serial numbers, there is no separate materials planning and no inventory management such as, for example, for make-to-order production.
If the requirements with different production versions are partially covered by warehouse stock, you cannot determine which requirement with which production version is covered by stock and which requirement with which version is to be produced.

Solution
The distribution of planning to production versions should generally occur via quota arrangement.

As of Release 3.0, you can also split the requirements via quota arrangement as well as the allotment quota. You can, for example, specify that every requirement is divided up into a relationship of 40:30:30 in three production versions. You can also define minimum quantities, maximum quantities and rounded quantities, as well as priorities in the quota arrangement.
