SAP Note 11150 - ORA2709 osnpop: pipe creation failed.

Symptom

Error message ORA2709 osnpop: pipe creation failed when opening
a pipe.

Cause and prerequisites

Operating system error:
usually the maximum number of open files has been reached, or the
system file table is full.

Solution
Have the system administrator correct the operating system error:

HP-UX: Kernel parameters check/modify:
------
nfile >= 4096 : Open files all
maxfiles >= 128 : Open files per user
maxuprc >= 128 : max. proc. per user

* in file /etc/conf/gen/S800 (Model HP 8xx)
* in file /etc/conf/dfile

check the operating system kernel and modify where
necessary (see R/3 2.1x Installation Guide)
