SAP Note 23441 - Diff. during reconciliation of cash mgmnt/forecast

Symptom:

During the reconciliation of cash management and forecast, there are differences between the summed up amounts according to document database (output by program RFFDEP00) and the summary records from cash management and forecast (output by program RFFDIS40).

Cause and prerequisites

The variant for RFFDEP00 probably contains an incorrect key date.
Other causes are found below.

Solution

The key date for this program is used to include only the documents with a posting date up to this key date and then to include cleared documents if the clearing date is greater than the key date.
Thus, documents could be missing (namely those where the posting date is greater than the key date), and cleared documents are also selected (namely those cleared after the key date).
Therefore, you should generally use 12/31/9999 as the key date if the reconciliation is to be made against the summary records of cash management and forecast.
If, however, the reconciliation is to be made against the open items list, you have to enter the same key date as in the OI list.

If the key date is not the cause of the difference, then the following reasons among others can be considered:

• Before the setup programs (RFFUEB00 and RFFDKU00) are run, the summary records generated by the setup programs are not deleted.

• The summary records are deleted, but the memo records (table FDES), that is, payment advices and planned items, are not deleted in order to avoid entering them again. After deletion, the corresponding summary records are not created for the memo records (by using RFFDZZ00).

• Between the deletion of summary records and the end of the reorganization, documents were changed by postings, the payment program or clearing program for example (Document changes are only to be made if the compare reports are also carried out, since this simplifies the error search when differences exist.).

• Data inconsistencies caused by update terminations

• Authorization problems: The compare reports check for different authorizations, and thus certain data (company codes or business areas) may be missing in a check list.

• An update was made to Release 4.5A or a higher release for the first time but the required cash management and forecast setup has not beeen carried out (refer to Note 156757).
