SAP Note 22378 - AA378: Transaction type with retirement not allowed

Symptom:

Error message AA378 occurs during a partial retirement: 'Transaction type not allowed for retirement of asset & &'.

Cause and prerequisites

1. The fixed asset has no asset data from previous years and a transaction type for retirement of asset data from previous years is used.

2. the fixed asset has little asset data from previous years and no retirement amount but either a quantity or a percentage rate is specified. However, the retirement amount calculated with these specifications is smaller than a currency unit (for example <> Solution

1. Use a transaction type for retirement of new acquisition.
2. In this case, enter a manual amount posted of at least 0.01 in addition to the quantity but without percentage rate.
