SAP Note 12876 - Activities/work centers defined twice

Symptom:

Program : SAPMCNMP
Error-ID: PJ650 PJ660 PJ670 etc.
When you upload an MPX filed created or processed using MS Project, error messages like the following appear:
E650(PJ): Activity & defined twice (Please check)
or
E660(PJ): Activity element & defined twice (Please check)
or
E670(PJ): Work center & defined twice (Please check) (sometimes also other error messages)

Cause and prerequisites

The MPX file was not created correctly. This may be due to one of two reasons:

1. The user fields for activities and/or resources were not completed correctly. (This scenario occurs most often if you created the file in MS Project.)

2. The table definitions "Export" for activities and/or resources are not correct. That is, some of the data needed for the upload is not stored in the MPX file.

Solution

To be able to carry out an upload correctly, SAP requires certain information, some of which must be stored in the user-defined MS Project fields, and be in particular format. In particular, the fields containing the key of the activity/resource must be unique. You must take the following action to correct the error:

1. Complete the relevant fields in MS Project correctly *) (Normally, this only only be necessary in files actually created in MS Project and not in those downloaded from SAP and merely processed in MS Project).

2. Correctly define the export tables for activities and resources in MS Project *).

• Which fields should be filled with which information and transferred to the MPX file, can be determined in three ways:

a) In the Project Management Implementation Guide (IMG), read the information on configuring the MPX interface (you only need to configure the MS Project side.

b) Load the view file SAP-PROJ.MPV (the field is in a SAPGUI sub- directory) and look at the export table definitions there).

c) Create an MPX file by downloading a reference network from the SAP Systems, and analyze it.
