SAP Note 11826 - AS91: Incorrect calculation of deprec. start date.

Symptom

During the old assets data takeover with transaction AS91 (online
or with RAALTD01), a depreciation key is given in a depreciation
area which deviates from the proposal from the asset class.
The depreciation start date is, however, still calculated with the
key of the asset class (from the capitalization date).

Cause and prerequisites

The calculation of the depreciation start date is made from the
capitalization date b e f o r e the depreciation area screen is first
sent. Only the depreciation parameters of the class from which the
depreciation start date is proposed are available at this time.

Solution
For a depreciation key which deviates from the class proposal, the
depreciation start date m u s t also be explicitly specified. This
date is also available in the existing system.
