SAP Note 10389 - Asset class cannot be changed in asset master data

Symptom

You cannot change the asset class in the master data maintenance
for assets (AS02).

Cause and prerequisites

Subsequent change of the asset class is not programmed,
as the asset class, when added, triggers default values and
comprehensive checks that, if changed, would pose a number of
other technical and logical problems.

Solution
Define a new asset and repost the values, if necessary.
