SAP Note 22210 - Project number in F1/F4 help and Customizing

Symptom:

A popup window appears requiring you to enter a project number.

Cause and prerequisites

The Customizing projects are used for structuring during an initial installation or release upgrade. By selecting the functions required for a Customizing project, you reduce the Implementation Guide to the activities that are actually required.

Entering the project number in F1/F4 help leads you through the Customizing project; you can them perform the configuration for this application transaction.

This enables you to specifically document the changes you have made in the Customizing project and use the options provided by status management.

You can skip the project number entry by simply pressing the "No project" button on the popup window. This has the following consequences:

• You will not be able to use the status or memo functions in the Implementation Guide.

• All Implementation Guide activities that involve maintenance of the data may be displayed.

Solution

Select one of the following methods:

• Enter the number of the project you want to use

• Press the "No project" button

• Create a new Customizing project
