SAP Note 21145 - Incorrect operating system name

Symptom:

Operating system is not supported by R/3

Cause and prerequisites

Operating system name was changed

Solution
With the command 'setuname -p', you can change the name of the operating system. This should never be necessary, however, it is possible that by mistake 'setuname -p' instead of 'setuname -n' has been entered (the latter changes the node name). With the 'uname' command, you can check the name of the operating system. If it is incorrect, you can change it as user root, for example, with 'setuname -s SINIX-N' to the correct value. When booting the system at the latest, this is also done automatically.
