SAP Note 14699 - CCMS warns of unsaved archive logs

Symptom:

CCMS issues a warning stating that several archive logs were not saved.
Message "NOT YET ARCHIVED": number.

Cause and prerequisites

Archive logs were inadvertently deleted, archive log mode was temporarily (e.g. during an upgrade) deactivated, disk error, etc.

Solution
When the archive logs are lost, you must perform a backup as soon as possible (offline when possible) in order to enable a complete recovery. The warning in CCMS automatically disappears after 300 new archive logs are backed up.
As of R/3 Basis Release 4.6B you can manually set the number of archive logs displayed in Transaction DB12. By reducing this number temporarily you can suppress the warning message.

Additional key words

brarchive, DB12, CCMS, monitor, backup
