SAP Note 14640 - Locking file in GLX planning?

Symptom:

Request for simultaneous ledger planning in FI-GLX.
A customer would like to know how the locking process can be modified in
GLX planning.
In the present system configuration, summary tables are exclusively
blocked, which is why only one user can plan at any one time. More than one user should be able to plan at the same time.

Cause and prerequisites

Planning locks the databank dependent on the planning parameters.

Solution
In order for several users to plan simultaneously, several planning parameters must be created.
If, for example, you want to plan various accounts at the same time, then one planning parameter could contain accounts 100.000 to 199.000 and the second parameter (otherwise identical), contains accounts 200.000 to 299.999. This would allow two users to plan these accounts simultaneously.
This example can be applied to any dimension.

Caution: You must avoid the following combination:
Planning parameter A: 100.000 - 200.000
Planning parameter B: 300.000 - 400.000
In this case the system would again lock because the first digit of the account is ambigous and therefore cannot be included in the lock object.
It is therefore advisable, to create for every planning parameter, the smallest possible 'homogenous' groups, whose first digit is unambiguous.
