SAP Note 25477 - Abend when maint. long texts: M3 514 missing index

Symptom:

1)
When maintaining a material master record, you maintain a long text. However, this results in termination message M3 514, "System error: incorrect index structure for table STHEAD".

2)
When maintaining a material master record, you switch from a long text screen (such as the "Purchase Order Text" screen) to SAPscript long text maintenance to create a new long text. However, the system displays message M3 787, "You cannot execute another function after deleting a long text".

Cause and prerequisites

This problem occurs if you delete an existing long text by overwriting it with blanks and if you simultaneously execute a specific function (such as "Create") relating to long texts.

Solution

Problem corrected in Release 2.2H and Release 3.0D.
