SAP Note 15932 - Stock value not updated for movements

Symptom:

During a goods movement, the stock value and stock quantity in the accounting data of the material master are not updated.
The storage location stock is updated correctly, and an accounting document is generated with the correct values.

Cause and prerequisites

Flag "Ma." (material update) is not set in table T156W.

Solution

CAUTION!
Note that this solution only applies when the problem is caused by a missing 'MA.' flag in table T156W. If the stock inconsistency has a different cause, refer to Notes 32236 and 76926. you should only correct stock inconsistencies after consultation with our support
department (2nd level support).

1. Check table T134W to make sure value update is supported for the material type.
2. Check table T156S (column VStr.) to see which value string has been assigned to the material type (with value and quantity update).
3. Check table T156W (column "Ma") to see whether the flag for material update is set in the BSX lines. If the flag has not been set, the accounting data in the material master record will not be updated.

Correct any incorrectly posted material documents as follows:

1. Make sure no one else is posting goods movements in the system.

2. If it has been set, reset the "Ma" flag in table T156W. This step is required to reverse the incorrect postings.

3. Select "Material document -> Reverse" from the Inventory Management menu and reverse the incorrect material documents.
Check the accounting document to make sure the reversal document is posted with the same value as the original document.

4. Check the plant and storage location stocks: they must have the same status as before the incorrect postings.

5. Now activate the "Ma" flag in table T156W.

6. Repost the original goods movements. Check the stocks.

• Stock overview of the material

• List of material documents for the material (Transaction MB51)

• List of accounting documents for the material (Transaction MR51)

Using Transaction SE16, table MBEW and MARD with the stock values and stock quantities of the current and prior periods.
