SAP Note 13141 - Error 1069:

Symptom:

Once a machine has been restarted, a utility does not start. The following message appears:
'Error: 1069 The service did not start due to a logon failure'.

Cause and prerequisites

The service referred to in the error popup should be started by one particular user. The ID entered under "Control panel" --> "Services" ---> "Startup" for this service is not correct. This problem mostly occurs if the login password for the user under which the services should run was changed, and the corresponding change was not made in the "Startup" entry in Services.

Solution
In the example of the SAP Services: The name is SAP_ thus, for example, SAPC11_00. This service is normally started as the user adm (for example, C11adm). When setting up the startup option of Services, the password for this user is requested. If the password for the user is changed later, it must also be changed in the startup options for Services. We therefore recommend that you use the option "Password never expires" when setting up the user adm, so that the user is never forced to change the password.

Key word: WindowsNT
