SAP Note 13046 - OnArchive: terminates with error message 13402

Symptom:

INFORMIX:
Archive (with Onarchive) terminates with error message
ARC-E-01576, Unexpected internal fatal error has occurred.
ARC-I-01578, Consult your /tmp/sysfail.8914 file.
ARC-I-01587, Internal check failure code: 13402

Cause and prerequisites

You have tried to archive with software compression or encryption. At present these functions contain errors which have not yet been fixed in any Informix online version.

Solution
Set parameters /NOCOMPRESS and /NOENCRYPT in the /informix//etc/oper_deflt.arc file, that is archiving without compression and encryption, and relocate the Onarchive commands without
/COMPRESS or /ENCRYPT.
