SAP Note 10765 - No acct assignment spec. possible for deprec. areas.

Symptom

The customer wants to carry out an account maintenance for
depreciation areas for which >>> No account assignment possible <<<
is displayed. Message AC218 appears when selecting the area: Area not
provided for account assignment.

Cause and prerequisites

As is described in the long text of the error message, the chosen
depreciation area is not defined for posting to the financial
accounting,

Solution
As is described in the long text of the error message, specify
whether
- asset value and depreciation or
- only the depreciation
are to be posted to the financial accounting during the maintenance
of the depreciation area.

depreciation area definition.
