SAP Note 10548 - CCMS: BRBACKUP start fails, hostname > 8

Symptom

EM s1/805: No application server found on the db server
in conjunction with certain functions.

Cause and prerequisites

Posibility 1: The profile parameters rdisp/mshost and SAPDBHOST are set to different values. Hence, a comparison in Include LSDBAU13 does not have the expected result.
Possibility 2: "LIKE SY-HOST" is still used in various places in the system; SY-HOST is only 8 characters long.
Syslog message (while attempting a start):
no background processing active on 12345678 ! !- Host name cut off at 8 places

Solution
Possiblity 1: The parameters rdisp/mshost and SAPDBHOST should have
