Note 10153 - SAPFAX.DLL not available

Symptom

The SAP printer driver for Windows (SAPLPD.EXE) reports:
SAPFAX.DLL not present.

Reason and Prerequisites

Error in delivery: SAPFAX.DLL was not shipped.

Solution

If SAPLPD is used only for printing, SAPFAX.DLL is not necessary (comparable to BARCODE-DLL). You can ignore the error message.
If you also want to transmit print output via a fax system installed on the Windows PC (SYMANTEC WinFax PRO), the SAPFAX.DLL is required.
The current version of SAPFAX.DLL can be fetched online from SAP via ftp. It is contained on all sapserv* under /general/R3server/patches/rel46D/NT/I386 in file "sapfax_1.CAR".

Please note: As of SAP Technology Release 5.0, SAPFAX.DLL is no longer supported; please also refer to Notes 9119, 134179, and 306509.
