SAP Note 28293 - Trans, SapDba, WP's under NT > 3.5 is hanging

Symptom:

An application written using Oracle Pro*C Version 1.6.4 is hanging untill Ctrl + C. ( Windows NT 3.5.1 )
Transport is hanging
Import is hanging
Put is hanging

Cause and prerequisites

Bug in Pro*C 1.6.4 causes loss of synchronization between the database server and the database client.
The problem was up to now only obtained on Central SAP Instances.

Solution

For all Oracle 7.1.3.3.* releases is a patch available.
On sapserv3/sapserv4:
as ftp

/dist/permanent/ORACLE/NT/SQLNTTT.DLL_71336/

Substitute the old sqlnttt.dll in %ORACLE_HOME%\BIN by the new one.
Save the old one before substitution.
Load the DLL in bin mode by ftp.
The Oracle Database and Oracle Services must be stopped in order to replace the DLL.

Starting with Oracle Release 7.2.2.4.3 this problem is fixed.
