SAP Note 27345 - Procurement type not copied from reference material

Symptom:

You create a material, specifying a reference material. However, the procurement type (field name MARC-BESKZ) is not copied from the reference material. Instead, the procurement type based on the material type configuration in Customizing is proposed although the "Reference" indicator is set for field name MARC-BESKZ in Customizing transaction OMSR (Change field groups).

Problem corrected in Release 2.2G and Release 3.0B.
Please also note the following points:
- The procurement type can only be copied from the reference material
if the reference material's procurement type is allowed for the
current material's material type.
- The procurement type is only copied from the reference material if
you have just created the material at plant level, maintaining MRP
data as well. The reason for this is that the procurement
type for a material is given a value (on the basis of the material
type configuration) even if you create plant data without the MRP
view. However, the fields copied from the reference material are only
those actually displayed on the screen that do not yet contain any
values.
