SAP Note 27335 - Object dependencies: Query of nonvaluated charact.

Symptom:

The query of a nonvaluated characteristic for the definition of object dependencies does not lead to the expected result.

Example: Characteristic COLOR, values 'BLUE' and 'RED'
If the characteristic COLOR remains nonvaluated, the selection condition COLOR NE 'BLUE' is not fulfilled.

Cause and prerequisites

Nonvaluated characteristics can never meet a condition.

Solution
Predefine the valuation of the characteristic.
