SAP Note 23491 - Settlement of capital invest. measure -> EM F5704

Symptom:

During the periodic settlement of capital investment measures (order or project or WBS element) on asset under construction or during a full settlement with KO88, KO8G, CJ88 or CJ8G, error message F5704 "Inconsistent amounts" is displayed, if parallel currencies are managed and if down payments with strongly varying exchange rates were partially cleared.

Cause and prerequisites

The down payment clearing was not posted with the same translation date as the respective down payment. During the last partial clearing with the down payment clearing, the system tries to clear all currencies. In this case, the +/- sign between local currency and parallel currency (for example, controlling area currency, group currency) can change.
Example: Local currency DEM Group currency USD
Down payment: 1700 1000
1. Settlement: 1500 1100
2. Settlement: 200 100-
During the settlement of the 2nd down payment clearing you have to settle a debit amount in DEM and a credit amount in USD. This causes error F5704 then.

Solution
The down payment clearing must be posted with the same translation date as the original down payment to which they refer. The posted down payment clearing must be reversed, if necessary, and posted again with the correct translation date.
