When maintaining the customer or vendor master record data, you have to enter an international location number (ILN) instead of a company number, an additional number and a check digit.
If an 8-digit standard company number (composed of a 7-digit company number and check digit, no additional number) is to be changed to an ILN, digits 8 to 12 (addit.no., BBSNR field) are filled with zeros. This results in a new check digit which you enter in the "check digit" field (field name BUBKZ).
Key words: KNA1-BBBNR, KNA1-BBSNR, KNA1-BUBKZ, LFA1-BBBNR, LFA1-BBSNR, LFA1-BUBKZ, FD01, FD02, FK01, FK02
The standard company number (SCN) is replaced by the international location number (ILN) as of 05/01/1996. After this key date, the use of the ILN is binding, however, it can already be used before this date upon agreement with the business partners.
SolutionEnter an ILN as follows as compared to an SCN:
Enter the first 7 figures of the ILN into the "Company number" field (KNA1-BBBNR or LFA1-BBBNR), figures 8 to 12 into the "Additional number" field (KNA1-BBSNR or LFA1-BBSNR) and the last figure of the ILN into the "Check digit" field (KNA1-BUBKZ or LFA1-BUBKZ).
The name of the corresponding fields has been changed in Release 3.0A.
Program RFBBBNR1, which is included in the standard software as of Release 2.2H and 3.0D, replaces 8-digit standard company numbers with an ILN for all customers and/or vendors. It does this by filling digits 8 to 12 (BBSNR field) with zeros, calculating the resulting check digit and entering it as the new check digit (in field BUBKZ).
Customers and/or vendors from countries where the license plate codes are B (Belgium), E (Spain), I (Italy), NL (The Netherlands), or ZA (South Africa) are not taken into consideration, since the fields are often used for other purposes in those countries. The ILN must be entered manually for these countries.
You should schedule this program to run in the background at night.
