SAP Note 23320 - oninit: "Fatal error in initializing ASF..."

Symptom:

The following error message appears when starting the database system:
oninit: Fatal error in initializing ASF with 'ASF_INIT_DATA'
flags; asfcode = '25507'
Cause and prerequisites

In the configuration file $INFORMIXDIR/etc/$ONCONFIG, the value for the parameter NETTYPE is set incorrectly.

Solution

Check the parameters NETTYPE in the file $INFORMIXDIR/etc/$ONCONFIG corresponding to the note mentioned in "Related Notes".

The most reason for this problem is when you copy a configuration file from an other hardware platform without changes.
