SAP Note 21195 - SAPLPD reports 'resetDC failed' when printing via SAPWIN

Symptom:

When you print using the device type SAPWIN, the information 'resetDC failed' appears in the error log.
Landscape printing does not work.

Reason and Prerequisites

The printer driver rejects a reset on the device context. The is required to prit a document in landscape format, even though the device driver is set to portrait format.
We are aware that the drivers of WinFax3.0 and WinFax4.0 are such problematic cases. The shift works in WinFax7.0.

Solution
Try to get a more recent printer driver for your printer. If this is not possible, you must use another printer or do without the automatic switching between portrait and landscape format.
If you only want to print in the landscape format, you can try to set the Windows device driver to landscape format.
