Depending on the type of entry on the collective entry screen of transactions MB1A (enter goods receipt), MB1B (enter transfer posting), MB1C (enter other goods receipts), and MB11 (enter goods movement), an automatic account determination is carried out for each item or only for the first item entered on this screen and is then copied for all additional items.
Case 1: automatic account determination for each item
-----------------------------------------------------
Screen title: Enter Goods...: New Items
If you enter the items on this screen and do not press ENTER until you have entered all items, the system will carry out the automatic account determination for each individual item.
Case 2: automatic account determination, e.g., only for first item
------------------------------------------------------------------
Screen title: Enter Goods...: New Items
You enter an item. The system automatically determines a cost center, a businees area, and/or a profit center, for example. You then press ENTER. This causes the system to change to a different status.
Screen title: Enter Goods...: Collective Processing
The user sees the account assignment fields automatically determined by the system (provided that optional entry is activated in the field selection of T156B/OMBW). This account assignment is then valid for all other items entered on this screen. This means, no automatic account determination will be carried out for these items.

Cause and prerequisitesThis control mechanism is intentional.
SolutionIf you want to ensure that automatic account determination is carried out, the following entry options are available:
- 1. Entry by means of function "New items -> Single entry" (this procedure is recommended)
- 2. Entry by means of function "New items -> "Collective entry"
- Enter all desired items first, and then press ENTER or
- After having pressed ENTER, choose the "New items" function again, clear the account assignment fields, and then press ENTER again after having entered all desired items first (clearing the account assignment fields is inapplicable if they are suppressed in T156B; however, you should define the business area as optional entry (.) in this case).
