SAP Note 19687 - Change to customer material number

Symptom:

When the customer material number or material number is changed, the dependent field on the overview screen, "Orderer", is not adapted.

Cause and prerequisites

Misunderstanding due to incorrect I message.
I message: V1470, V1009

Solution
The system reacts correctly to changes to the "Customer material number" and "Material number" fields. WHen one of the two fields is changed on the "Orderer" overview screen, you must note the following:
1. The I message "The material number is taken from the cust..." is
wrong. Corrected in Release 3.0.
2. The system intentionally enables the user to subsequently change
the customer material number or material number without
redetermining the "dependent" field. This means that when
the "Customer material" or "Material" field is overwritten, the
referenced field is not adapted.
3. If you want the dependent field to be automatically redetermined,
you have to delete it when you make the change.
