SAP Note 16379 - Report does not find any data for single set

Symptom:

A report has a basic set in a line and finds all the data. If you replace the basic set by a single set in the report definition, the report does not find any data.
Message GR601 is issued: ... does not contain any data pages.

Cause and prerequisites

The problem can occur when, instead of a single set, a basic set was defined in which set names were entered instead of values. Because value entries cannot be checked against the master data during set creation, the system cannot detect the error.

Solution
Please check the type of the set. If the above cause is involved, please delete the invalid basic set and define a single set (type = "S").
