SAP Note 16167 - INF25587 (AIX!):Network receive failed during install.

Symptom:

When installation is being carried out under AIX, the error INF25587 (network receive failed) occurs during the load phase (loading the database).

Cause and prerequisites

The raw devices for the INFORMIX database were not installed correctly.
If the raw devices required for the R/3 Informix database set up using smitty,
smitty->Physical & Locical Storage->Logical Volume Manager
->Logical Volumes->Add a Logical Volume
you should ensure that the Logical Volume TYPE is set to the value 'raw'
in the input template. If this is not the case, the Logical Volumes cannot
be used for an Informix database.

Solution
The raw devices must be created again correctly. After this, you should repeat the steps in the installation starting from the step 'Installation of database software' (R3INST->SYSTEM->OPEN->CONTINUE-> INSTALL->OPEN INSTANCE->Prepare database).
