You want to delete (manual, electronic, lockbox, polling) account statements or check deposit lists from the bank data memory.
Cause and prerequisites- 1. For test system
During the test phase, bank data memory may be inconsistent, making further processing impossible. This could be due to incorrect entries, incorrect test data, or incomplete Customizing.
- 2. For production system
The bank data memory should be periodically deleted in order to improve the performance during the search of new account statements.
If the customer works in the production system, SAP urgently recommends to use the archiving functionality of the bank data memory which is available as of Release 4.0B. Please see the related note for more information. If you want to delete account statements instead of archiving them, carry out a carefull and thorough check beforehand. After you deleted, the account statement is irreversibly erased from the bank data memory.
The batch input sessions or the postings generated with these sessions are of course not deleted when you delete the bank data memory. All postings created during immediate posting (call transaction) are not reversed either.
To delete all types of electronic bank accounts, report RFEBKA96 is available. This report deletes all specified account statements independent of the status of processing. Please take into account that this report deletes all account statements until Release 3.0C, if you do not enter a short key, since the input is not a parameter, but a select option.
Before, Report RFEBKAD0 was used to delete. Now it is replace by the archiving functionality and careful usage of Report RFEBKA96. This also applies, because RFEBKAD0 does not support the deletion of lockbox statements. Report RFEBKAD0 deletes account statements and check deposit lists whose statement date is earlier than or equal to the specified date. It only deletes statements having the status 'Completely posted' or 'Deletion indicator set'. Status 'Deletion indicator set' can be set in Transactions 'Man. account statement' or 'Check deposit'. As an alternative, you can also use Report RFEBKA90 which sets the status to 'Posted' (change status = '8') or 'Deletion indicator set' (change status = 'X'). To do this, a so-called short key should be specified. This eight-digit numeric key allows to uniquely identify every account statement or check deposit list, resp. The short key of an account assignment / check deposit list kann be determined from table FEBKO. To do this, call Transaction /nSE16, select table FEBKO, mark the short key for output and EXECUTE.

Use the programs only after carefully examining the statements and lists. When deleted, they are irretrievably removed from the bank data memory.
